In this role, you will play a pivotal part in managing international logistics and ensuring compliance with UK and global trade regulations. You will coordinate the seamless movement of goods across borders, working closely with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal teams to optimise efficiency and reduce costs. Key Responsibilities Manage the end-to-end import/export process, ensuring compliance with HMRC and international trade laws. Prepare and review shipping documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and customs declarations. Liaise with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and transport providers to schedule shipments and resolve issues. Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with internal policies and audit requirements. Monitor shipment progress, proactively addressing delays or discrepancies. Track import/export costs and identify opportunities for process improvements. Collaborate with procurement, sales, and finance teams to streamline logistics operations. Stay updated on trade legislation changes and provide guidance to the wider team. Assist with licences, permits, and export controls as needed. Support trade compliance audits and KPI reporting. What We’re Looking For Essential: 3+ years of experience in import/export, logistics, or supply chain coordination. Strong knowledge of customs procedures, documentation, and trade compliance. Proficiency in MS Office and logistics software (e.g., SAP, ERP systems, or customs platforms like CDS). Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills. Ability to work under pressure with high attention to detail. Desirable: Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment. Familiarity with Incoterms 2020 and Brexit-related trade rules.
