We are currently seeking two Environmental Sampling Technicians to join a leading organisation operating within a regulated industry. These opportunities have arisen to provide cover for long-term absences and offer a unique opportunity to work in a field-based role with a high level of autonomy.
This position plays an important role in supporting environmental monitoring and compliance activities across a large operational network. Working independently, you will travel to a variety of locations to collect samples in accordance with planned schedules and operational requirements. You will be responsible for ensuring samples are gathered, recorded, and transported accurately to support laboratory testing and analysis.
The role involves regular travel, working outdoors throughout the year, and interacting with customers, contractors, and site personnel. Every day will be different, with changing routes, locations, and priorities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Carrying out scheduled and ad-hoc sampling activities across multiple sites
- Preparing and maintaining sampling equipment and materials
- Recording and handling samples in line with quality standards and procedures
- Delivering collected samples to designated testing facilities
- Maintaining accurate records using company systems and technology
- Representing the organisation professionally when visiting customer and operational sites
- Following all health, safety, quality, and lone-working procedures
Working Hours
Average 37 hours per week
Shifts of up to 10.5 hours between 6:30am and 5:30pm
4 days on, 4 days off rotation
Participation in an out-of-hours standby rota may be required, including evenings and weekends
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- A full UK manual driving licence
- Experience working to documented procedures and compliance standards
- The ability to manage your workload effectively and meet deadlines
- A strong appreciation for health and safety practices
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Confidence when engaging with customers and members of the public
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and digital systems
- A willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- The ability to undertake manual handling activities, including lifting and carrying equipment
