Are you an experienced Electrical Assembly or Test Technician looking for a hands-on role where you can work on complete industrial machinery? This is an excellent opportunity to join a specialist engineering environment where you’ll be involved in machine wiring, electrical testing, fault-finding and installation work. With regular overtime available, this is a great role for an electrically skilled engineer looking to develop their career within a varied manufacturing setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete electrical wiring and connections on industrial machinery, including sensors, motors, actuators and interconnects.
  • Carry out functional testing, I/O checks and initial electrical fault-finding before commissioning.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, layout drawings and BOMs.
  • Support electrical installation work across the factory, including lighting, distribution boards and equipment upgrades.
  • Assist with machinery installation and electrical improvement projects within production areas.
  • Work closely with other engineering teams during machine build, routing, alignment and system integration.
  • Maintain high standards of safety, workmanship and quality throughout all builds.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in machine wiring, industrial electrical assembly or a similar hands-on electrical role.
  • Confident reading and interpreting electrical drawings and wiring documentation.
  • Practical knowledge of control devices, drives, sensors and motors, including DOL and VFD configurations.
  • Able to identify and rectify electrical faults during build and testing.
  • Comfortable working across both workshop-based assembly and wider site electrical support.
  • Strong attention to detail with a practical, problem-solving approach.
  • 18th Edition or equivalent electrical qualification would be advantageous.
  • Experience with automation, PLC/HMI systems, drive commissioning or OEM/process machinery would be beneficial.

Benefits Package:

  • Salary up to £41,000 depending on experience.
  • Overtime available, paid at 1.5x standard hourly rate, including weekday and Saturday morning overtime.
  • 39-hour working week, Monday to Friday.
  • 20 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, increasing to 26 days with length of service.
  • Annual bonus scheme, subject to company performance.
