Trainee HGV Technician – Longstanton – £39,000 – £41,500 PA
Are you a qualified vehicle technician or ever thought of getting into the trade but haven\’t found somewhere to train you? If so that this position could be perfect for you!
Working as a Trainee HGV Technician you will be part of a dedicated inhouse vehicle maintenance team, working alongside an experienced mechanic on a wide range of vehicles, looking after basic servicing and MOT works through to more in depth vehicle diagnostics. We would be open to speaking with anyone who is qualified already OR has a passion for tinkering with cars in their spare time as full training can be provided.
Trainee HGV Technician\’s Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on a wide range of vehicles.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults efficiently and accurately.
- Complete vehicle inspections and ensure all work meets manufacturer and industry standards.
- Use diagnostic equipment and technical documentation to support repair work.
- Maintain accurate records of work carried out and report any issues to the senior Mechanic
Skills & Experience Required as a Trainee HGV Technician:
- Ideally have a relevant qualification in vehicle mechanics such as an NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent).
- A passion for cars with the want to learn and develop in role.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A full UK driving licence is essential.
The role is working Monday to Friday, 7.30am – 5pm. This is a full time permanent role which offers weekly pay and overtime paid at 1.5x hourly rate.
