We’re partnering with a highly regarded investment-focused organisation to hire an Applied AI / Automation Engineer into their London team. This is a hands-on, high-impact role focused on building an intelligent automation platform that transforms complex operational workflows into scalable, production-grade systems.
The Role
You’ll take ownership of designing and delivering an end-to-end AI-driven reporting and automation platform, working closely with Data Science and operational stakeholders. This is a build-from-scratch opportunity — ideal for someone who enjoys solving real-world complexity and turning manual processes into robust, automated systems.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Designing and building an automated reporting platform from the ground up
- Creating intelligent workflows across data ingestion, validation, and reconciliation
- Implementing AI-driven and agent-based automation to streamline operations
- Introducing exception handling and human-in-the-loop systems where needed
- Ensuring systems are accurate, auditable, and production-ready
- Partnering closely with product and operations teams to translate business problems into scalable solutions
- Evolving tooling into a maintainable internal product, not just scripts
What They’re Looking For
- Strong experience in Python, SQL, and automation engineering
- Proven track record building data pipelines and production systems
- Experience integrating systems via APIs and structured data feeds
- Solid understanding of CI/CD, testing, and system reliability
- Strong systems thinking and end-to-end architecture capability
- Ability to work closely with non-technical stakeholders
Nice to have:
