A well-established membership and standards-focused organisation is seeking an experienced HR Manager to provide hands-on people leadership and operational HR support. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior HR generalist who enjoys working autonomously and making a tangible impact within a collaborative, purpose-driven environment. The role is part-time (2 days per week) and based in Kent, with flexibility for hybrid working.

The Role

Reporting into the finance leadership team, you will take ownership of all core HR activities across a small organisation, ensuring robust people practices, legal compliance and a positive employee experience. You will act as the trusted HR adviser to managers and employees while leading key improvements across policies, performance management and employee engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice on employee relations matters including performance, conduct, grievances and capability.
  • Manage recruitment processes from job design through onboarding.
  • Ensure HR policies, contracts and procedures remain compliant and up to date.
  • Support performance reviews, learning and development planning and succession activities.
  • Oversee payroll coordination with external providers.
  • Advise on salary reviews, benchmarking and reward practices.
  • Develop employee engagement initiatives and internal communications.
  • Produce HR reporting and people metrics for senior stakeholders and governance committees.
  • Support organisational change initiatives and workforce planning.

About You

You will be an experienced HR professional who enjoys operating in a broad, standalone role and balancing strategic thinking with day-to-day delivery. You'll ideally bring:

  • CIPD Level 5 or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • Experience handling employee relations and advising managers.
  • A track record of developing and improving HR policies and processes.
  • Experience with performance management, reward or succession planning.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently and deliver practical outcomes in a part-time environment.
