I am supporting a fast moving organisation who are looking for an experienced interim Social and Labour Relations specialist to cover France. This is not a generalist HR role; it requires someone with a strong legal background and deep expertise in French labour law, works councils and industrial relations.

The business needs someone dynamic, assertive and pragmatic who can hit the ground running and is not afraid to navigate complex and layered employee relations landscapes. The successful candidate will be UK based but must be comfortable travelling to France on a regular basis as a core part of the role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage all works council interactions across France, navigating the layers and complexities that come with a large, multi site organisation.
  • Manage protected status cases and ensure full compliance with French employment legislation.
  • Communicate effectively up and down the business including to C suite level, advising on new policies and legal requirements as they evolve.
  • Support M&A integration activity from a labour relations perspective where required.
  • Travel regularly to France to attend works council meetings and support the business on the ground.
  • Work closely with legal and HR teams across Europe where needed.
Required Experience
  • Legal background is essential, ideally with direct experience in French labour and social law.
  • Deep hands on experience managing works councils in France including protected status matters.
  • Experience with workers conventions.
  • Fluent in both English and French is absolutely essential.
  • Someone who is dynamic, assertive and brings real energy to the role.
  • Comfortable working autonomously in a fast moving environment.
  • Must be UK based and open to regular travel to France.
