This leadership role offers the opportunity to oversee a 20+ person backend and DevOps team, driving engineering excellence and delivering impactful solutions within a fast-paced, product-driven environment.
What to Expect:
- Leading a team of over 20 backend and DevOps engineers, fostering a culture of best practices and continuous improvement.
- Collaborating with cross-functional squads to enhance developer experience, reduce technical debt, and accelerate feature delivery.
- Serving on the engineering leadership team alongside the CTO and Head of Mobile Engineering to address company-wide technical challenges.
- Overseeing platform performance, uptime, and cost-efficiency, including monitoring, profiling, and optimizing code.
- Driving initiatives to streamline cloud infrastructure, reduce operational costs, and implement scalable solutions.
- Mentoring engineering leads, supporting their professional growth, and promoting a high-performance team environment.
- Staying abreast of emerging technologies, particularly within the AWS ecosystem, to inform strategic decisions.
Job Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience in backend engineering.
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing engineering teams.
- Strong architectural skills and a track record of delivering scalable solutions.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Shell or Python.
- Proficiency in Golang, particularly with event-driven services and gRPC.
- Extensive experience with AWS services, including ECS, EKS, Lambda, IAM, VPC, S3, EBS, RDS, and DynamoDB.
- Familiarity with Terraform and containerization technologies.
- Understanding of networking protocols and system design principles.
- Experience in startup environments, demonstrating agility and business-focused decision-making.
