Annapurna is working with a globally focused organisation that are currently looking for a Global HR Director. Their culture emphasises collaboration, innovation, and achieving excellence. They are seeking an exceptional Global People Director to join their team in Athens, Milan, Madrid or London.

Role Overview:

As a senior leader, the Global People Director will act as a vital strategic advisor to the Chief Operating Officer and their leadership team. This position demands a people-centric approach, aligning human resources strategies with business objectives to enhance performance, promote engagement, and foster cultural alignment across global operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for the creation and execution of a comprehensive people strategy, supporting organisational goals, developing leadership capabilities, and championing diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout the organisation.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Partnership and Leadership: Serve as a trusted advisor to the COO and their team, providing guidance on all people-related aspects to drive business success. Design and implement a worldwide people strategy that matches the company’s overall business aims, encouraging a high-performance culture and strong employee engagement.
  • Organisational Development and Change Management: Spearhead major transformation projects, including mergers and acquisitions, restructuring, and organisational design, with a focus on minimising risks related to people. Ensure that change initiatives are in harmony with business goals, preparing and supporting leaders and teams during transitions.
  • Global People Strategy Execution: Guarantee the effective delivery of the global people strategy, ensuring it translates into measurable results across all business units and regions. Direct workforce planning efforts, identifying key talent gaps and capability needs to support the organisation’s growth and innovation targets.
  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI): Advocate for DEI, integrating an inclusive mindset into all people practices. Develop a DEI strategy that builds a diverse talent pipeline, promotes equitable practices, and nurtures an inclusive culture at all levels of the organisation.
  • Leadership and Talent Development: Oversee talent management frameworks, encompassing performance management, succession planning, and leadership development, to ensure a robust talent pipeline. Guide senior leaders in identifying and developing high-potential individuals, preparing them for future leadership roles.
  • Employee Relations and Legal Compliance: Provide expert advice on intricate global employee and industrial relations matters, utilising legal knowledge to manage risk and maintain compliance.
  • People Experience and Engagement: Lead initiatives to improve the employee experience, ensuring alignment with organisational culture and values. Establish feedback mechanisms to assess engagement and pinpoint areas for improvement, prioritising actions that cultivate a positive workplace environment.
  • Oversight of People Operations: Take responsibility for ensuring the delivery of all recurring people-related processes, including rewards, performance reviews, and talent assessments, verifying they meet business needs. Collaborate with People Advisory and Centres of Expertise to ensure continuous improvement in service delivery, client satisfaction, and adherence to group-wide timelines.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated strategic vision and a deep understanding of industry trends to inform people strategy.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships and drive change across all levels of an organisation.
  • Extensive experience in leading organisational change with empathy and resilience.
  • A focus on operational efficiency, ensuring smooth delivery of HR operations.
  • A history of successfully leading meaningful people strategies that enhance employee engagement.
  • Strong team leadership skills, with experience in setting direction for global teams.
  • A data-driven approach, utilising insights to make informed decisions.
  • Significant experience in a senior HR leadership role within a global organisation.
  • Expertise in workforce planning, talent management, and employee/industrial relations on a global scale.
