Senior People Technology Specialist - 12-Month FTC
12-month fixed-term contract | Global People Technology | Workday
We're looking for an experienced Senior People Technology Specialist to join a global organisation and take a lead role in maximising the value of its Workday platform.
This is a hands-on senior position for someone who can combine deep Workday expertise, technical leadership and strong stakeholder management to deliver complex enhancements, optimisation projects and scalable People Technology solutions.
What you'll be doing
- Act as a senior Workday SME and technical lead, owning solution design, configuration and delivery.
- Lead complex Workday enhancements, optimisation programmes and large-scale projects from requirements through to deployment.
- Drive testing strategies, regression testing and successful implementation of system changes.
- Partner with senior People, Technology and business stakeholders to turn business needs into scalable, automated and user-focused solutions.
- Lead troubleshooting, root-cause analysis and resolution of complex Workday issues.
- Develop reports, calculated fields and dashboards, while supporting Workday security, governance and data integrity.
- Contribute to the People Technology roadmap and identify opportunities to improve processes and user experience.
- Lead assessment and adoption of bi-annual Workday releases.
- Mentor colleagues and help build technical capability across the People Technology team.
Key Experience Required
You'll need:
- 3+ years' hands-on Workday experience across support, configuration and optimisation.
- Strong expertise in Workday Core HCM and Recruitment, plus at least two additional modules such as Compensation, Advanced Compensation, Talent & Performance, Peakon, Time Tracking, Benefits or Payroll.
- Proven experience leading complex Workday projects and optimisation initiatives end-to-end.
- Strong Workday reporting, calculated fields and dashboard capability.
- Experience translating complex business requirements into scalable, sustainable technical solutions.
- Good understanding of Workday security, role-based access and data governance.
- Strong senior stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence across People, Technology and global business teams.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on root-cause resolution and continuous improvement.
- Experience mentoring or coaching less experienced team members.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, global and virtual environment.
