We are seeking a strategic and experienced Talent & Development Senior Manager to join a global financial services organisation. This role will play a critical part in shaping the organisation's approach to succession planning, leadership development, and talent growth.
You will work closely with senior leaders to ensure a strong, inclusive pipeline of future leadership capability, while driving initiatives that support the development and progression of colleagues across the organisation. This is a high-profile role requiring strong stakeholder engagement, strategic thinking, and delivery expertise.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement succession planning strategies and frameworks across the organisation
- Manage the full succession lifecycle, ensuring readiness and capability development of identified successors
- Partner with senior stakeholders, including executive-level leaders, to embed talent priorities into business strategy
- Develop and deliver learning and development programmes through both digital and classroom-based solutions
- Oversee onboarding programmes, ensuring all new colleagues receive a structured and supportive introduction
- Create and implement coaching, mentoring, and facilitator development initiatives
- Analyse data and metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of talent and development programmes
- Drive talent pipelining and career progression initiatives to support internal mobility
- Collaborate with HR and business teams to align development initiatives with organisational needs
- Support digital transformation and continuous improvement of talent and learning processes
- Contribute to and help shape talent and development strategy
- Build trusted relationships and influence senior stakeholders
- Provide expert advice on succession planning and leadership development
- Lead, coach, and develop others where applicable
- Ensure appropriate governance, risk management, and controls are in place
- Deliver sustainable improvements aligned to both short- and long-term business goals
- Experience defining and leading succession planning strategies and frameworks
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and leadership teams
- Demonstrated success in measuring and improving succession readiness and talent outcomes
- Experience in leadership development, organisational development, or talent management
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence presenting to senior audiences
- Strategic mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
