The Opportunity

Anna Maher Recruitment is working with an established manufacturing business in Sheffield to recruit a Despatch & Warehouse Team Leader to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Despatch Team Leader, Warehouse Supervisor or Manufacturing Team Leader to take ownership of day-to-day despatch, warehouse and material control operations within a busy manufacturing environment.

You’ll be responsible for leading a team, managing stock and materials, coordinating suppliers and subcontractors, and ensuring finished products are dispatched efficiently and on time to customers across the UK and internationally.

This is a varied, hands-on supervisory role where organisation, communication and the ability to keep operations running smoothly are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the despatch team, ensuring finished goods are packed and dispatched accurately and on time.
• Manage warehouse stock, material movements and traceability in line with company procedures and ISO requirements.
• Issue materials to production in line with demand and manage excess stock returns.
• Monitor minimum stock levels and source materials as required.
• Coordinate subcontracted operations to meet production schedules and business requirements.
• Manage supplier relationships, purchase orders, order book reviews and supplier forecasts.
• Monitor supplier delivery performance, identify potential risks and implement contingency plans where necessary.
• Liaise with production and other internal departments to ensure customer and operational requirements are met.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organised warehouse environment.
• Monitor key performance indicators and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and processes.
• Support, train and develop team members, ensuring targets, quality standards and health and safety requirements are achieved.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• Previous experience in a Team Leader, Line Leader or Supervisory role within despatch, warehouse, goods in, production or manufacturing.
• Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Experience using ERP systems.
• Knowledge of stock control, material traceability and manufacturing processes.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• The ability to manage priorities, solve problems and work effectively under pressure.
• Experience managing suppliers, subcontractors or material requirements would be advantageous.
• A proactive approach to continuous improvement, health and safety and quality standards.
• The ability to lead, motivate and support a team effectively.
