Due to company growth, we are looking for an experienced Assembly Technician to join our technology client at their site, based West of Cambridge. As an Assembly Technician, the successful candidate will be responsible for the assembly of various small assemblies, handling of parcels, and assisting in all areas of the Operations Department.

You will be responsible for the manufacture and testing of electronic, mechanical, and optical components, packing, and assembly of the company’s products. You will use a combination of electronics and mechanical engineering skills. This is a full-time position (36 hours a week with a half day on Friday) and will be 100% office based. PLEASE NOTE: Location is accessible via public transport, but you will need to check route options.

Typical tasks would include but not limited to:

  • Packing final products into large crates
  • Assist other Assembly Technicians
  • Cable assembly and some mechanical/electrical assembly
  • Updating instruction manuals
  • Testing of equipment
  • Assisting with quality control/unit testing
  • Handling inbound and outbound goods
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
  • Assisting R&D / Engineering in small projects

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in the same or similar role
  • Team player, suited to a small, collaborative environment
  • Problem solving and decision making abilities
  • Have an eye for detail
  • Computer literate
  • Numerate and articulate (for stocktaking)
  • Ability to lift (meaning to lift heavy equipment chest-high)
