Due to company growth, we are looking for an Assembly Technician to join our technology client at their site, based West of Cambridge City Centre. As an Assembly Technician, the successful candidate will be responsible for the assembly of various small assemblies, handling of parcels, and assisting in all areas of the Operations Department.
You will be responsible for the manufacture and testing of electronic, mechanical, and optical components, packing, and assembly of the company’s products. You will use a combination of electronics and mechanical engineering skills, for which all necessary training will be provided.
This is a full-time position (36 hours a week with a half day on Friday) and will be 100% office based. Location is accessible via public transport, but you will need to check route options.
Responsibilities- Packing final products into large crates
- Assist other Assembly Technicians
- Cable assembly and some mechanical/electrical assembly
- Updating instruction manuals
- Testing of equipment
- Assisting with quality control/unit testing
- Handling inbound and outbound goods
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
- Assisting R&D / Engineering in small projects
- Team player, suited to a small, collaborative environment
- Ready to learn
- Numerate and articulate (for stocktaking)
- Ability to lift heavy equipment chest-high
