This position supports the Ankura Construction, Disputes & Advisory Business Group – one of six practices focused on client delivery services across the Firm.
Our Summer Internships offer high caliber students the opportunity to experience work and life at Ankura and gain a valuable insight into our business and culture. You\’ll work alongside experienced professionals on live and interesting client projects. You will be doing real work with real clients so be prepared to get stuck in.
Construction projects underpin the modern world. They provide the places in which we live, work and relax. They connect people and communities. They power our cities, unlock economic growth and enhance lives. But they are difficult to get right. They can be inefficient and wasteful, often arriving late and over budget. They can tarnish reputations, undermine confidence and destroy trust.
It doesn\’t have to be this way. With the right expertise, even the toughest projects can be successful. This is a 10 week internship from June to August 2026.
Construction Disputes & Advisory Practice
- Ankura\’s Construction professionals are recognised as leading experts in providing construction dispute resolution and advisory services for some of the world\’s most complex construction projects. Ankura\’s construction experts provide services to clients on construction projects across all industries to avoid, manage and mitigate execution risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Construction Dispute Resolution: Our experts provide analysis of complex issues in construction disputes, including robust delay and cost analyses, to determine the root-cause of issues experienced on the project. Conclusions are presented in a clear, concise and objective manner to assist parties in the dispute resolution process.
- Advisory Services: Our experts draw upon vast industry experience and lessons learned through dispute resolution experience to help organisations plan for success, execute with confidence and secure better project outcomes. We support clients resolve complex issues throughout the lifecycle of their projects, from the business case through to transition into operations.
- As a Construction Intern, you will develop analytical skills while being immersed in the world of client services. Construction Interns work directly with project team leaders and experts, assisting our experts in performing the detailed analyses required to provide the best solutions for our clients. Interns perform project schedule, cost, productivity and statistical analyses as well as assist with review of key project issues through document review and database creation/management. Our Interns often have opportunities early in their careers to work directly in client-facing roles, assisting clients with the complex challenges of planning, constructing, completing and resolving disputes for some of the largest construction projects around the world.

Responsibilities
- Assist with data gathering including detailed document reviews and database creation/ management.
- Perform detailed analyses of project schedule delays, project cost records, productivity, change orders and other issues related to design and construction.
- Utilise various computer software to analyse and model schedules, contractor production rates and costs.
- Create high quality work product and demonstrates exceptional quality control
- Prepare client-ready work product for senior level review.
- Support company and practice development efforts.
- Attend client and industry events, developing relationships with other young in career professionals.
Requirements
- You\’ll need to have or be on course for a 2.1 degree ideally pursuing a degree in one of the following: Engineering, Construction Management, Economics, Maths, Sciences or Computer Science with solid academic performance
- Highly motivated, driven, and energetic attitude towards work and career
- Strong team-oriented personality characteristics: Strong work ethic, thoughtful, and collaborative, with a positive outlook and confidence
- Creative/analytical problem-solving ability and a collaborative mindset.
- Ability to utilise technology to solve complex problems and present findings.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly in handling multiple/evolving tasks as a result of new engagements and/or re-prioritised deadlines.
- Must be able to produce high quality and/or final work product under strict deadlines.
- Ability to excel within a team environment.
- Must be willing to travel and work overtime as needed.
- Must demonstrate a working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience with Primavera scheduling tools and Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling techniques is desirable, but not required.
