Ankura is a team of excellence founded on innovation and growth.

This is a rare opportunity to shape executive hiring at the highest levels of a global professional services organization. As Director, Executive Recruiting – EMEA/APAC, you will partner directly with senior leaders to attract, assess, and secure Managing Directors and Senior Managing Directors who will define the future of the firm.

You’ll operate as a true advisor, not a transactional recruiter — bringing deep market insight, judgment, and discretion to some of the firm’s most critical leadership decisions. If you thrive at the intersection of executive relationships, business strategy, and modern recruiting innovation, this role offers both scale and influence.

Role Overview:

The Director will lead executive search activity across EMEA and APAC for Managing Director and Senior Managing Director talent, with a strong emphasis on the management consulting and professional services landscape. You will represent the firm to senior external talent, provide clear and confident counsel to internal stakeholders, and continuously raise the bar for how executive recruiting is done. This role sits within the Executive Talent Acquisition team in the People Office and works in close partnership with firm leadership, practice heads, and regional People teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Own and deliver end‐to‐end executive searches for Managing Directors and Senior Managing Directors across EMEA and APAC.
  • Act as a trusted partner to senior leaders, advising on executive talent strategy, market conditions, and leadership readiness.
  • Build and sustain deep networks across top‐tier management consulting and professional services firms, maintaining long‐term executive relationships.
  • Apply strong, confident judgment in executive assessment, evaluating leadership capability, cultural alignment, and long‐term potential in a partnership environment.
  • Serve as a visible ambassador of the firm, delivering a thoughtful, high‐touch candidate experience at the most senior levels.
  • Bring forward market intelligence, talent mapping, and competitive insights to inform hiring decisions and future workforce planning.
  • Embrace and help shape the use of AI and emerging recruiting technologies to enhance sourcing, market mapping, and assessment — without losing the human element that executive hiring demands.
  • Manage multiple complex searches simultaneously with pace, precision, and exceptional organizational discipline.
  • Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and follow‐through.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of executive recruiting experience, with a proven track record of hiring Managing Directors and Senior Managing Directors (or equivalent senior leadership roles).
  • Deep knowledge of the management consulting and professional services ecosystem, including partnership models and leadership career paths.
  • Experience as:
  • An in‐house executive recruiter within a consulting or professional services firm, and/or
  • A senior executive search consultant specializing in consulting or professional services.
  • Exceptional sourcing and relationship‐building capability, with confidence engaging the most senior leaders in the market.
  • Strong executive presence and the ability to influence, challenge, and advise senior stakeholders credibly.
  • A clear point of view on where executive recruiting is heading, particularly the role of AI, data, and technology.
  • Outstanding organizational skills, sound judgment, and a strong work ethic.
  • A genuine interest in the business and a desire to help shape leadership for the long term.
  • Why You’ll Love It:

    • High visibility and impact at the most senior levels of the firm.
    • Autonomy, trust, and room to influence how executive recruiting evolves.
    • A role that values judgment, relationships, and insight, not just speed.
    • The chance to work on leadership hires that truly matter.
