We are looking for a Marketing and Comms lead who is both a visionary and a builder to establish and scale marketing at Ankar. This is a foundational role that blends strategic leadership with hands-on execution. You will define how Ankar shows up in the world — shaping our narrative, driving brand awareness, building out the marketing engine, and creating the programs that generate pipeline and engagement. You will work closely with the founders, sales, and product teams to position us as a leading voice in the ecosystem and translate our story into scalable growth through thought leadership, content, campaigns, community initiatives, and events that connect Ankar with our target audiences across all touchpoints. Initially, this role will be highly hands-on, with the objective of growing the team further down the line.

We are looking for someone who thrives in zero-to-one environments and can combine narrative instinct, ruthless prioritization, and executional intensity to build our marketing function from the ground up and deliver tangible results.

What You’ll Do

  • Shape the Narrative
    • Collaborate with founders and sales, product, and go-to-market leadership to translate product and market insights into a focused brand messaging framework.
    • Produce compelling editorial content, such as blog articles and case studies, to define and evolve Ankar's positioning as a thought leader in the innovation and patent space across the US and Europe.
    • Test the narrative across audiences and define new angles and stories that will generate funnel traction and support enterprise sales conversations.
    • Manage and grow Ankar’s social presence, ensuring consistent engagement and relevance to the IP and R&D community.
  • Build the Marketing Engine
    • Develop and execute the marketing strategy across content, website, social, campaigns, and events.
    • Design campaigns and programs that will bring Ankar into conversations with enterprise buyers.
    • Ensure a consistent drumbeat of content, launching and scaling new formats, including video, podcasts, and newsletters.
    • Repurpose long-form content into high-performing short-form assets.
    • Continuously track content and campaign performance and iterate based on engagement and pipeline impact.
    • Create polished visual assets (social media graphics, diagrams, report layouts, one pagers, slides, and event materials) to support content distribution and maintain a consistent and premium brand aesthetic.
    • Measure marketing success through commercial impact, not vanity metrics.
  • Curate the Community
    • Define, plan, and execute our presence at global industry events, client conferences, webinars, and sponsored forums — establishing clear success metrics.
    • Build and expand our community-led content by identifying key influencers and cultivating brand evangelists.
    • Develop and manage relationships with patent and R&D leaders for ongoing content partnerships.
    • Organize flagship events — conferences, executive dinners, panels, webinars, and community gatherings.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in B2B marketing, ideally in high-growth SaaS startups or scale-ups.
  • Experience marketing to enterprise and/or legal audiences across the US and EMEA.
  • Exceptional writing skills in English across multiple formats (e.g., case studies, interviews, and thought leadership).
  • Comfortable driving impact in a fast-paced scale-up environment, with high autonomy and a hands-on, entrepreneurial approach.
  • Strong design and editorial instinct.
  • Builder mindset with extreme ownership of outcomes.

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience in building and scaling a premium B2B brand.
  • Experience building and activating professional communities.
  • Comfortable collaborating with technical teams and translating complex products into clear, impactful narratives for non-technical audiences.
  • Data-driven decision-maker with commercial acumen.
  • Ability to produce simple short-form video content for social distribution.
