Job Title: Prefab Assembly Technician
Work Location: Caroline County, VA
Pay: $18-$22

Job Description:

– Entry level cable tech role; ideally, someone with 1+ year experience preferred, but someone from a laborer background would work.

– Pulling/terminating/testing CAT5/CAT6.

– Installing RJ45s.

– Work at the CDC, so a background check is required.

– Own common telecom hand tools.

  • Studies parts lists and gathers parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials for work preparation.
  • Reads, interprets, and follows blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other instructions to accurately assemble equipment and products.
  • Verifies, tests, and documents results of wiring terminations, cabling, and basic components.
  • Assembles equipment racks, enclosures, back panels, and components by examining connections for correct fit and fastening parts and subassemblies.
  • Routes, secures, and terminates copper and fiber optic cables and assemblies with intermediate complexity.
  • Assembles copper and fiber optic cable harnesses with intermediate complexity.
  • Kits equipment, devices, and materials for assembly and shipping.
  • Installs and updates firmware and IP address devices.
  • Tests equipment, power, devices, and assemblies to ensure proper functionality, including prefabricated cable assemblies.
