Animed is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Veterinary Medicines & Operations Manager to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role involves building, developing, and leading a core team of Dispensing Veterinary Surgeons and in the future SQPs, and Veterinary Nurses to ensure the sustainable growth of Animed's prescription services.

Location: To be based at our Head Office - Owen Road, Diss, Norfolk, United Kingdom, IP22 4ER (Hybrid)

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 40 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Manage and coach a team of professional dispensing veterinary surgeons, SQPs, and in the future, Vet Nurses, fostering a positive and supportive team culture.
  • Operational Management: Establish a future-ready operational structure leveraging technology and support staff to meet growing demand.
  • Compliance Oversight: Work closely with the Compliance Lead to ensure all teams operate in full compliance with VMD and internal SOPs, maintaining adherence to the retail and wholesale distribution licence for veterinary medicinal products.
  • Service Delivery: Ensure high standards of efficiency, accuracy, and customer support within prescription medication services, including risk mitigation planning.
  • Communication: Oversee effective communication between customers, prescribing vets, and operational departments.
  • Performance Monitoring: Own, measure, and report on performance KPIs across all areas of your team. Monitor, audit, and record operational processes using Doctract and Q-Pulse.

Essential Skills and Experience Required

  • UK registered with RCVS as a MRCVS.
  • Customer-centric approach with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong understanding of legal requirements in line with the VMD and Home Office.
  • Good understanding of modern retail operations.
  • Proven track record of successful line management with strong leadership, interpersonal, and influence management skills.
  • High affinity for data with an objective and precise approach to performance measurement and reporting.
  • Ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels.
  • Proactive self-starter with a ‘can-do' attitude and collaborative nature.
