We are looking for an assistant to our lead trainer for a new weekly visual arts school for 7-11yrs in Ilfracombe called Ani-Mates. The successful candidate will be overseeing visual arts based activities for children, ensuring that they are undertaken in a safe and effective manner and that relevant policies and procedures are adhered to.
Responsibilities include:
- Contributing to the preparation of activities including the organisation & clearing of the facility at the end of the session.
- Supporting children participating in Ani-Mates visual arts activities.
- Adhering to Ani-Mates safeguarding rules and responsibilities.
- Helping with preparing portfolios for children undertaking Arts Award qualifications.
This is an entry level position, MNW for age, 3 hours a week in term time, with the option of additional hours. Any offer of employment will be subject to an enhanced DBS clearance check.
Requirements:
- An interest in Animation, Visual Arts, Illustration.
- Working with young people.
- Can work late afternoons and/or weekends during term time.
- Have a GCSE or higher in a visual arts subject.
- Enjoy working with young people.
- Comfortable supporting the needs of the young people learning visual arts skills.
- Will follow Animating Devon's safeguarding and Prevent policies.
- Can work on own initiative.
