We are looking for a lead trainer for a new weekly visual arts academy for 7-11yrs in Ilfracombe called Ani-Mates. The successful candidate will be overseeing visual arts based activities for children, ensuring that they are undertaken in a safe and effective manner and that relevant policies and procedures are adhered to.
Responsibilities
- To prepare and deliver academy activities including the organisation & clearing of the facility at the end of the session
- Delivery of the Ani-Mates academy curriculum
- Supporting children participating in Ani-Mates visual arts activities
- Adhering to Ani-Mates safeguarding rules and responsibilities
- Help with preparing portfolios for children undertaking Arts Award qualifications
This is a mid level position, £14.03 per hour (raising on completion of a level 3 award in education & training qualification), 2.5 hours a week in term time (holiday to be taken in school holidays), with additional hours each quarter for curriculum management. Any offer of employment will be subject to an enhanced DBS clearance check.
Requirements
- You should have an interest in:

- Have a degree or higher in a visual arts subject
- Be prepared to undertake the following funded qualifications and training - Level 3 Award in Education and Training certificate, First Aid, Safeguarding and Prevent training
- Enjoy working with young people
- Comfortable supporting the needs of the young people learning visual arts skills
- Will follow Animating Devon's safeguarding and Prevent policies
