Do you have a passion for Emergency and Critical Care, but prefer working days? Look no further! Shrewsbury Hospital is looking for a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join our experienced and supportive team.

In this exciting role, you’ll oversee inpatient care and emergency cases coming through our A&E service, offering a stimulating mix of medically focused cases. Your primary responsibility will be to meet the needs of our inpatients — whether that means performing emergency procedures yourself or coordinating care with our skilled multidisciplinary team.

Core Skills and Experience

  • Highly skilled and motivated to continue developing your technical capabilities
  • Confident managing complex medical cases, with some surgical experience
  • A genuine team player who enjoys the buzz of a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Compassionate and empathetic when communicating with clients during stressful situations

Desirable

  • Certificate in Emergency and Critical Care (advantageous but not essential)

Rota

  • Average 40 hours per week
  • Rota options: 4 on / 4 off OR 3 shifts per week with 2:9 weekends
  • Shift times: 07:00 – 20:00 (including 1 hour unpaid lunch)
