About the Role This role is ideally suited for either an early career University lecturer who has some experience but is looking to expand and grow their career (at Lecturer) or a more experienced academic looking to progress their career (at Senior Lecturer) The role will entail module leadership and lecture delivery across a number of animal modules. You will lead our BSc (Hons) Biological Sciences degree and will play an important role in our BSc (Hons) Bioveterinary Science and BSc (Hons) Veterinary Biosciences programmes You will become a key member of the team as we continue to expand our curriculum, especially teaching in areas around animal health and disease, anatomy and physiology, and biochemistry As an Academic Personal Tutor, you will support students as they transition into and through Higher Education, enabling them to maximise the opportunities Hartpury offers and to achieve their full potential A candidate with excellent communication skills, and with experience and the ability to work professionally with industry contacts across subject areas would be welcome The role requires a passion for educating, influencing and enabling the next generation of graduates to add value to the industry, nationally and globally You will grasp the opportunity to foster cross-disciplinary collaborations and ambitions that will build on current strengths within the department, and across the institution About You You will hold a teaching qualification or be willing to complete one within two years of appointment You will possess a postgraduate degree in a relevant subject area, with a PhD being highly desirable at Lecturer and essential at Senior Lecturer level Ability and willingness to teach biochemistry at undergraduate level would be an advantage Relevant industry experience within the subject field would be an advantage Be highly motivated with a commitment to the highest quality of teaching and learning Supporting higher education programme delivery, you will be highly enthusiastic and professional Wellbeing support including our Employee Assistance Programme Support for continuous professional development Flexible working opportunities available Enhanced maternity, adoption and paternity leave 35 days annual leave entitlement plus bank holidays We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
