Wednesday 15 January. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic role as part of the high disease containment post-mortem team within the Pathology and Animal Sciences Department. You will be underpinning the crucial work of a dedicated agency that is tackling disease and ensuring the health of animals throughout the UK. In this role, you will provide support for the ante and post-mortem examination of large animals and poultry through the sampling, and humane euthanasia of livestock using appropriate methods. You will also assist with the location/sampling of tissues as required by experimental protocols and the safe transfer and submission of samples from the post-mortem room to the relevant laboratory facilities, following Good Laboratory Practices. Together with experience in working in a scientific environment and dissection/anatomy skills, you will need to be a good communicator, team player, motivated, able to use common software applications and have a BTEC HNC/BSc degree or equivalent technical qualifications in biological/biomedical/bioveterinary science.
