Head of Operational Resilience

Full-Time Remote
Animal Friends

Location: UK (Remote)

Are you ready to shape the future of operational resilience at a company that values hard work, big ambitions and having fun along the way?

At Animal Friends, we're looking for a strategic and engaging Head of Operational Resilience. Sitting within a transversal function that spans our UK and EU entities, you won't just be ticking compliance boxes. You will be making a real impact safeguarding our business, protecting our customers and ensuring we can confidently navigate any disruption.

We champion a modern way of working. This is a fully remote UK role with a strong focus on work-life balance, giving you the flexibility to do your best work while living your best life. You’ll be joining a incredibly collaborative and supportive team environment, where your expertise will drive exciting and meaningful projects from day one.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading the strategy: Designing and driving our Operational Resilience, Business Continuity and Crisis Management frameworks.
  • Empowering people: Line managing and mentoring a close-knit team of under 5 dedicated professionals.
  • Navigating regulations: Acting as our resident expert on FCA, PRA, and DORA requirements, ensuring we stay ahead of the regulatory curve.
  • Managing risk & recovery: Overseeing Disaster Recovery, cyber recovery and third-party supplier resilience.
  • Influencing at the top: Sharing your insights, leading crisis exercises and presenting directly to Executive Committees and the Board.

What we’re looking for:

  • Significant leadership experience in Operational Resilience, BCM, Crisis Management or Disaster Recovery within a regulated environment.
  • A strong, working understanding of FCA, PRA and DORA requirements.
  • A natural communicator and influencer who is just as comfortable collaborating with third-party suppliers as they are presenting to the Board.
  • Someone who can design and facilitate engaging resilience tests and crisis exercises.
  • Bonus points if you have: Industry certifications (MBCI, CBCI, ISO 22301/27001) or experience across multiple European jurisdictions.

If you are a strategic thinker who wants to make a tangible difference in a positive, energising environment, we want to hear from you.
