The Role
As a Domiciliary Housekeeper, you will play an important role in supporting residents living independently within our Retirement Village and Assisted Living Development, helping them to maintain a high standard of living and achieve an improved quality of life, independence, and integration. Working as part of a supportive domiciliary care team, you will provide a range of domestic services tailored to each individual’s needs. Your responsibilities will include tasks such as cleaning, vacuuming, laundry, ironing, bed making, cooking, washing up, and general tidying, ensuring each resident’s home is maintained to a consistently high standard.
You will take pride in creating a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents, while working in line with health and safety policies, including COSHH regulations. You will also be responsible for identifying and reporting any hazards, maintenance issues, or incidents, ensuring the wellbeing of residents is always prioritised. This is a rewarding role ideal for someone who is reliable, compassionate, and takes pride in delivering high-quality domestic support, while working collaboratively as part of a dedicated team.
Working hours: 30 hours per week Monday - Friday 08:00 - 16:00 (flexible)
Requirements
We are looking for someone with some experience of working within a Housekeeping role however full training will be given if we think you demonstrate the right qualities at interview. An understanding of Health & Safety, Infection Control and COSHH would be an advantage. All posts are subject to a clear enhanced criminal record check and satisfactory references. Although it is no longer a legal requirement for staff working within CQC regulated Care Homes for Older Adult Care in England to be fully COVID-19 vaccinated, in the best interests of our staff and residents, we have decided to keep it a mandatory requirement to work for our organisation. Therefore, we will need proof of your COVID Vaccination pass. This role does not meet the requirements of Sponsorship. You must have current valid right to work in the UK.
The Person
You should be able and willing to follow instructions and detailed guidelines and demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills towards residents, colleagues and visitors. It is essential that you can work within a team and also work unsupervised when visiting residents apartments. Remain confidential at all times. If you can show thoroughness and attention to detail that would be an advantage. If you have a basic understanding of using cleaning chemicals and handling and dealing with infection control situations within a challenging environment we would also welcome your application.
