Role Description
- Provide hands-on petroleum engineering support including production optimisation, reservoir evaluation, production and reserves forecasting.
- Lead technical input and co-ordinate with production/operations teams to understand and enhance recovery on producing fields (i.e. production allocation, production optimisation, gas well deliquification, water injection work, monitoring/requesting well tests, fluid levels, identifying new water injection/disposal wells etc.).
- Work with geological team to generate and maintain 3D dynamic reservoir models (RFD-tNav) for well planning, production and reserve forecasting and production optimisation.
- Generate Field Development Plans (FDPs), reservoir surveillance and opportunity identification.
- Identify and quantify key subsurface risks and uncertainties impacting future field development and make recommendations to mitigate and manage such risks (including both reservoir risk and risk associated with data quality or model assumptions).
- Generate business cases to justify development opportunities including determining rates and reserves, capital and operating costs, economic evaluation, business and HSE impacts.
- Liaise with service providers to determine costs, and schedule to feed into business case.
- Present projects to Sr. management and in some cases JV partners for approval.
- Participate in well proposals and well intervention work programs, working closely with (internal or 3rd party) well engineering team.
- Provide technical input during tendering processes and the preparation of AFEs, whilst following internal workflow.
- Manage 3rd party specialist contractors (reserve evaluation, field studies, petrophysics, etc.).
- Manage CAPEX projects including well interventions, workovers, new drills and abandonments (engaging well site supervisors and 3rd party support when required).
- Prepare annual CAPEX and ABEX budget and production forecast.
- Lead partner meetings including workshops and technical committee meetings.
- Provide support to planning and permitting teams.
- Contribute to M&A or licence acquisition opportunities.
- Engagement with regulatory bodies (NSTA, EA and Local Authorities).
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree or higher in Engineering discipline.
- Significant petroleum engineering experience with an operation E&P company.
- Reservoir modelling experience desirable.
- UK onshore experience desirable.
- Team player with ability to work collaboratively.
