The Opportunity

Looking for a job where you can earn, learn, and make a real difference every single day? This Modern Apprenticeship in School Support could be the perfect way to kick-start your career. As part of a busy school office team, you’ll be right at the heart of the action — helping staff, pupils, and families, learning how a real workplace runs, and building skills that will set you up for the future. You don’t need loads of experience; we’re far more interested in your attitude, your enthusiasm, and your willingness to jump in and give things a go.

You’ll work with friendly colleagues who’ll show you the ropes, teach you how to use different digital tools, and help you grow your confidence day by day. And while you’re gaining hands-on experience, you’ll also be working toward a recognised qualification that can open doors to future admin, school support, or wider council roles. For some weeks of the year you will be able to work in other parts of the council.

If you’re organised, enjoy helping people, and like the idea of doing something meaningful for your community, this could be the start of something brilliant. Bring your curiosity, bring your energy — we’ll help you build the rest.

This job is temporary for up to 18 months from date of appointment.

Self-selection interviews will be offered during the period 13th April - 15th May.
