Job Description Based at County Buildings, Market Street, Forfar.

This is an exciting opportunity within Children, Families and Justice Service (Forfar & Kirriemuir Locality Team) for an experienced and skilled practitioner to support the delivery of high-quality services to children, young people and their families, ensuring safe, effective and person-centred practice.

As a Senior Practitioner, you will support the Manager in the day-to-day operational management of the service and provide professional leadership within the team.

You will play a key role in supporting staff with complex casework, promoting best practice and ensuring positive outcomes for children and families.

You will provide guidance and support to social workers and other practitioners, assisting with the oversight of complex cases, including risk assessment and planning, and support the implementation of GIRFEC and child protection procedures.

You will contribute to quality assurance, audit and continuous improvement activity supporting staff development through mentoring, supervision and practice learning and work effectively with partners across health, education, police and third sector.

You must hold a recognised Social Work qualification and be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).

You will have significant post-qualifying experience in children and families social work, demonstrate experience of working with complex cases, including child protection and have a sound understanding of relevant legislation, policy and practice frameworks.

You will be able to demonstrate strong professional judgement and decision-making, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be committed to improving outcomes for children and young people.

You will also able to support and challenge practice to ensure high standards and work effectively as part of a multi-agency team.
