Based at County Buildings, Market Street, Forfar, there is an opportunity to join the Angus Adult Protection Unit as an Adult Protection Review Officer. This job is workstyle 3 - Flexi. You will have the opportunity to benefit from our flexible and agile working practices. This means you will work from a variety of locations including working from council buildings and you can work from home to best suit your work, meetings and collaboration.

Safeguarding adults at risk of harm is central to the work of Angus Health & Social Care Partnership and the Adult Protection Team in Angus plays a crucial role in providing expert knowledge, skills and support to staff across the service as well as developing and delivering Angus Adult Support and Protection policy and procedures. The role of Review Officer ensures that AHSCP continue to build on best practice in ASP and that AHSCP deliver effective ASP outcomes for the people of Angus.

You will report directly to the Head of Service (and the Angus Health and Social Care Partnership’s Adult Protection Lead). You will be responsible for:

  • Convening and chairing Initial and Review Adult Protection Case Conferences, Initial Referral Discussions, and Financial Abuse Support Team Meetings to ensure that support and protection plans for adults at risk are put in place.
  • Contributing to reviewing and updating the Angus Adult Protection Operational Instructions.
  • Developing and delivering all key multi agency Adult Protection training in Angus.
  • Developing and delivering Council Officer/Second Worker training and Council Officer refresher training.
  • Keeping up to date with National Developments and disseminating national adult protection information within the Angus Health and Social Care Partnership, and Angus Council.
  • Representing the Head of Service (AHSCP’s adult protection lead officer) at Social Work Scotland and other national meetings as directed.
  • Providing Social Work teams and other colleagues with advice and guidance around Adult Support and Protection.
  • Providing information, data and support to the Head of Service on Adult Support and Protection matters.

You will have:

  • A Social Work Qualification (Degree or equivalent)
  • Registration with SSSC
  • Considerable Social Work experience with adults/young people and families
  • Excellent knowledge of Adult Support and Protection
