This job is workstyle – Hybrid+

You will have the opportunity to benefit from our flexible and agile working practices. This means you will work from home for part of your week and spend some time in council buildings to best suit your work, meetings and collaboration.

An exciting opportunity has arisen which is a key role working within our Information Governance Team, offered on a temporary full-time contract.

\\n

In addition to joining a talented, supportive and welcoming team within Legal, Governance and Change, the post also offers a competitive salary and all the benefits of working for a public sector organisation, including Flexitime and entry to the Local Government Pension Scheme.

Angus Council Legal and Democratic Services is committed to working flexibly and equipment will be provided to support working from home. This post is Workstyle 5 – Hybrid plus. In this workstyle most work activity (80%+) can be carried out at home or from another location. Approximately 20% of time could be spent at an office desk. Additional time may be spent, when required, in a council building using bookable spaces for collaborative working, meetings, training and mentoring purposes.

We are looking for applicants with a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, the desire and ability to work collectively and become a key team member. The workload will be varied, challenging and interesting. You will be supported in a collegiate environment and encouraged to develop a full range of legal and other skills to advance your career with us.

\\n

You will ideally have experience in and be able to demonstrate a sound understanding of Data Protection law in a Local Authority setting. This will include, but is not limited to:

\\n

• Providing general advice in relation to Data Protection law, and all other relevant Data Protection practices

\\n

• To assist with record management and governance activities

\\n

• Liaise with the Scottish Information Commissioner (SIC) and other external parties as required.

\\n

This job is temporary initially until 31st December 2025 to cover a secondment.

\\n

Internal applications on a secondment basis will be considered. You must have the approval of your line manager.

\\n
