Overview
Based at either Ladyloan Primary School, Arbroath or Montrose Academy. You will be asked on the application form to state which post you are applying for. This job is Workstyle 4 – Hybrid. You will benefit from flexible and agile working practices, including working from council buildings, service user locations, site visits and from home to suit your work, meetings and collaboration.
As an Active Schools Assistant, you will be supported by the local Active Schools Coordinator as you deliver physical activity interventions to children and young people across Angus Schools.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for agreeing these interventions with the ASC and relevant school, then planning, delivering and evaluating high quality physical activity sessions across a range of activities. You will support and encourage children not currently engaged in sports and physical activities to lead a healthier lifestyle, while improving other outcomes for these young people through becoming more active.
You will deliver sessions in line with agreed interventions and ensure high standards of safety and safeguarding where appropriate.
Qualifications
You will be qualified to a minimum of SVQ 3/HNC or a similar qualification in sport and leisure, with experience of delivering activities to children and young people in a school or community setting.
Contract
This job is temporary until no later than 31 March 2026.
