Airports and airspace are increasingly vulnerable to cyberattacks, as recent events in Europe have highlighted. We are looking for a talented Accounting Technician or Assistant Accountant to join our team:
What you will do:
- Processing and reconciling accounts payable invoices, supplier statements and payment runs
- Managing accounts receivable, issuing invoices, allocating payments and following up on outstanding balances
- Performing bank reconciliations, petty cash and credit card reconciliations
- Assisting with general ledger postings, journals and accruals
- Supporting month-end and year-end close procedures, preparing supporting schedules and reports
- Assisting with VAT returns, payroll preparation support and compliance tasks
- Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring data integrity
- Preparing ad hoc financial reports and analysis for management
- Liaising with suppliers, customers and internal departments to resolve queries
- Supporting senior finance staff with continuous improvement and finance projects
- Assisting in the preparation & submission of funding claims to Innovate UK, Invest NI & other government bodies
- Additional duties as requested by Management
What we are looking for:
- Part qualified or qualified Accounting Technician or QBE
- Strong understanding of accounting principles
- Excellent numerical skills, and advanced Excel skills
- Strong demonstrable experience of financial and accounting tools and software
- Excellent planning and organisational skills, and a high attention to detail
- Excellent IT skills (MS Office, Google Workspace), with the ability to grasp a variety of platforms and systems quickly
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and solid writing skills
- Experience working in an Engineering/Technical environment is desirable
- Experience working in a start-up is desirable
