What you will do:

  • Processing and reconciling accounts payable invoices, supplier statements and payment runs
  • Managing accounts receivable, issuing invoices, allocating payments and following up on outstanding balances
  • Performing bank reconciliations, petty cash and credit card reconciliations
  • Assisting with general ledger postings, journals and accruals
  • Supporting month-end and year-end close procedures, preparing supporting schedules and reports
  • Assisting with VAT returns, payroll preparation support and compliance tasks
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring data integrity
  • Preparing ad hoc financial reports and analysis for management
  • Liaising with suppliers, customers and internal departments to resolve queries
  • Supporting senior finance staff with continuous improvement and finance projects
  • Assisting in the preparation & submission of funding claims to Innovate UK, Invest NI & other government bodies
  • Additional duties as requested by Management

What we are looking for:

  • Part qualified or qualified Accounting Technician or QBE
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles
  • Excellent numerical skills, and advanced Excel skills
  • Strong demonstrable experience of financial and accounting tools and software
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills, and a high attention to detail
  • Excellent IT skills (MS Office, Google Workspace), with the ability to grasp a variety of platforms and systems quickly
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and solid writing skills
  • Experience working in an Engineering/Technical environment is desirable
  • Experience working in a start-up is desirable
