An excellent opportunity has now arisen for an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist to join a long-established and respected engineering manufacturing company. This is a hands-on role involving the manufacture of various precision components used in the company’s own designed food processing equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for machining parts to specification while maintaining high standards of quality, safety and productivity.
Applicants must be able to read engineering drawings, use measuring equipment and inspect their own components. You must also be able to work effectively as part of a team on the shop floor while adhering to Health & Safety, production and inspection standards.
Duties of a CNC Lathe Doosan 3 Axis Machinist:- Operating and machining components using CNC Doosan 3 axis lathes
- Manufacturing precision components to engineering drawings and specifications
- Using measuring equipment to inspect and ensure parts meet required tolerances
- Maintaining high standards of hygiene, discipline and housekeeping on the shop floor
- Working collaboratively within the manufacturing team
- Identifying and implementing productivity improvements where possible
- Following all Health & Safety and production procedures
- Experience operating CNC lathes (Doosan machines desirable)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience using measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers and gauges
- Strong attention to detail and quality control
- Ability to work within a team in a busy manufacturing environment
- City & Guilds qualification or Engineering Apprenticeship desirable
- Minimum 4 years machining experience if no formal qualification
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week. Overtime is generally available and paid at 1.5x hourly rate Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings.
