We are looking for Workshop and Teaching Supervisors for our University Campus summer programmes in Exeter, Warwick, Uxbridge, Richmond, Guildford, Stirling, and Portsmouth. This dual role involves working with the Teaching Manager (TM) to provide support to the teaching team, and to coordinate and oversee workshops with the Activity Team, ensuring the safe operation of the academic and workshop programme for both students and staff. This includes assisting the Teaching Manager in academic management and administration, staff training, health and safety procedures, and preparation of activity staff to deliver ANGLO workshops.
Your role & responsibilities
- Attend the WTS Training webinar prior to the centre opening.
- Run ANGLO Leader training to prepare for workshops.
- Plan and deliver all Workshop sessions, selecting materials, aids and locations appropriate to students’ ages and levels.
- Lead meetings prior to each Workshop and ensure all staff are prepared to assist students in completing their workshops, through a clear outline of the session aims and objectives.
- Supervise each Workshop group to assist staff where necessary.
- Liaise with the Activity Manager regarding ANGLO Leaders who lead workshops.
- Follow all legislation, guidelines and rules set out in the WTS manual.
- Set up and maintain teaching/workshop spaces.
- Liaise with staff and IT support to resolve IT issues.
- Administer placement tests alongside the TM where necessary.
- Assist the TM in timetabling classes.
- Attend meetings as required by the TM.
- Assist the TM in monitoring student attendance and ensuring ANGLO’s attendance procedure is followed.
- Attend teaching staff meetings.
- Assist the TM in supervising completion of all legal and other necessary documentation such as class registers, lesson plans, student profiles, academic reports, end of course feedback.
- Attend and contribute to induction and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) sessions.
- Provide guidance and advice to teaching staff as needed.
- Assist in the organisation of a certificate ceremony at the completion of each course.
- Report to the TM any relevant incidents or complaints including student or staff discipline.
- Supervise delivery and respond to student online questionnaires in a timely fashion.
- Assist the TM in arranging teacher cover and, where necessary, delivering lessons.
- Keep an accurate inventory of all materials.
- Manage Trinity revision/exam preparation sessions, gather grades, communicate with Head Office, and manage exam sessions.
- Print and organise student certificates.
- Provide teaching cover when required.
- Receive Safeguarding Level 2 Training and act as a Designated Safeguarding Person (DSP) at centre where required.
- Complete Workshop and Teaching Risk Assessments.
- Complete Part B risk log before each workshop, communicate risks to staff, and ensure all students and Group Leaders are informed.
- Ensure staff understand and implement the risk assessments and follow the relevant Emergency Reaction Plans.
- Oversee supervision of students during break times and allocate staff to supervise students between sessions.
- Assist in the training of new staff for Safeguarding Level 1.
- Liaise with the ANGLO Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) at Head Office whenever necessary.
- Ensure staff are aware of what to do if they have concerns about a child or if a child or another member of staff makes a disclosure.
Qualifications
Essential
- Right to work in the UK.
- University degree + TEFLI (CELTA). Native or near‑native English fluency.
- At least 3 years’ experience teaching under‑18s.
- Advanced IT skills, including Excel, Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, and classroom technology.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; team‑player attitude.
- Commitment to high‑quality customer service and a positive can‑do attitude.
- Ability to work under pressure, strong work ethic and ability to implement change at short notice.
- Committed to continuing professional development.
- All ANGLO staff are required to have enhanced DBS clearance to begin work.
Desirable
- University degree + TEFLQ qualification or equivalent experience (e.g., DELTA, MA TESOL).
- Young Learners teaching qualification.
- Experience conducting class observations and delivering CPD.
- Management experience in a similar environment.
- Experience preparing students for Trinity GESE.
Benefits
- Bed & Board: Residential position; full bed and board provided.
- Hours & Pay: 87.5 hours per 10‑night student programme (Exeter & Warwick). 93 hours per 14‑night student programme plus 14 hours of additional admin hours (all other locations). No overtime payment unless agreed in advance with Head Office. In some occasions, 14‑night 46.5‑hour programmes are offered; hours and remuneration are halved. Pay: £1,470.92 - £1,563.38 per student programme including holiday pay. Additional admin hours not included above.
