Our client is one of the world’s most respected design, engineering and project management consultancies, they are currently looking to appoint a Senior Fire Engineer to join their team across the UK, preferred locations: Bristol, Epsom, London or Derby. Responsibilities of Senior Fire Engineer : – Work in a range of sectors from residential buildings through to rail transportation or new energy facilities. – Manage multiple engineering projects from inception through to delivery in support of fire safety standards and codes. – Support the delivery of project work within time and cost budgets. – Keep up to date with regulations and legislation. – Developing fire engineering solutions on projects and ensuring the fire engineering strategy delivered. – Assess fire related risks in projects and working collaboratively to mitigate where possible. – Review and comment on the quality of fire safety related installations. – Undertake tenders for new work. – Prepare reports, take part in design team meetings, and liaise with client representatives as required. Requirements for Senior Fire Engineer: – Engineering degree, preferably fire engineering or alternatively a post graduate qualification in fire engineering (Applicants with different backgrounds also considered). – Demonstrate a strong record of successfully delivering fire safety projects – experience in other sectors strongly considered. – Strong experience working with a range of fire standards including but not limited to BS9999, NFPA 130, BS9992, EN45545. – Being customer and end user centric and cultivate that philosophy in their team. – Able to work towards chartered fire engineer status. – A flexible approach to the working environment. – Willingness to travel will be a positive advantage. – Fire modelling experience will be beneficial. – Good commercial awareness. – Ability to collate information and have a clear and structured approach to report writing
