EFL Teachers are responsible for planning and delivering high-quality lessons following the ANGLO syllabus. ANGLO sessions promote the communicative approach with emphasis on speaking and listening skills.

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that meet the needs of ANGLO teenage students
  • Work closely with colleagues in the teaching team to deliver the ANGLO experience
  • Embrace the communicative approach to language teaching and create an engaging, inclusive learning environment in language lessons, excursion lessons and project lessons.
  • Ensure that the Teaching Manager is informed as required
  • Exploit every opportunity for students to learn English both inside and outside the classroom
  • Create a positive learning environment which is well-organised and supports the introduction of British culture as part of the curriculum
  • Provide students with adequate feedback on their work
  • Accurately complete the students’ academic reports
  • Follow ANGLO’s safeguarding and welfare policies at all times
  • Demonstrate a high level of professionalism at all times

Requirements

Essential

  • You have the right to work in the UK
  • University degree + TEFLI qualification or equivalent experience (e.g.: CELTA, Trinity CertTESOL, PGCE, 120 hour TEFL course)
  • Native or near-native English fluency
  • Dynamic teaching approach
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, team player attitude
  • Commitment to high-quality customer service, displaying a positive “can-do” attitude
  • Ability to work under pressure, strong work ethic and ability to implement change
  • Committed to continuing professional development

Desirable

  • Prior experience of teaching U18s
  • Young Learners teaching qualification
  • Summer school experience
  • Experience of project-based courses and/or task-based learning
  • Experience of Trinity GESE exams
