ANGLO sessions promote the communicative approach with emphasis on speaking and listening skills. An overview of the role follows: <\/span><\/span><\/div>Plan and deliver high -quality, engaging lessons that meet the needs of ANGLO teenage students<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>Work closely with colleagues in the teaching team to deliver the ANGLO experience<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>Embrace the communicative approach to language teaching and create an engaging, inclusive learning environment in language lessons, excursion lessons and project lessons.<\/span> <\/span> <\/span> <\/li><\/ul>Your role & responsibilities <\/span> <\/span> <\/h2>Liaising with the Teaching Manager and/or WTS with regards to all relevant teaching and student matters <\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/li>Teaching levels and course types as directed by the TM/WTS, planning all classes sufficiently and marking students’ work<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>Selecting appropriate supplementary materials demonstrating sensitivity to the students’ needs and cultural backgrounds<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>Completing a weekly scheme of work<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>Completing attendance registers accurately and reporting any absence or sickness to the TM/ATM at the beginning of each lesson<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>Being familiar with, and following guidelines outlined in the Teacher Manual<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>Attending and participating in teacher briefings, meetings and CPD sessions when required<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>Ensuring students are prepared for presentations, excursions, and cultural visits<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>Responding to any issues, incidents and/or complaints in an appropriate and timely manner; ensuring that the Teaching Manager is informed as required<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>Exploiting every opportunity for students to learn English both inside and outside the classroom<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>Creating a positive learning environment which is well -organised and supports the introduction of British culture as part of the curriculum<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>Providing students with adequate feedback on their work<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>Accurately completing the students’ academic reports<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>Following ANGLO’s safeguarding and welfare policies at all times<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>Demonstrating a high level of professionalism at all times<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li><\/ul><\/div><\/span>Requirements<\/h3>Essential (Please do not apply if you do not meet these requirements)<\/b> <\/span><\/span><\/div>You have the right to work in the UK <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>University degree + TEFLI qualification or equivalent experience (e.g.: CELTA, Trinity CertTESOL, PGCE, 120 hour TEFL course)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>Native or near -native English fluency<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>Dynamic teaching approach<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, team player attitude<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>Commitment to high -quality customer service, displaying a positive “can -do” attitude<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>Ability to work under pressure, strong work ethic and ability to implement change<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>Committed to continuing professional development<\/span> <\/span> <\/span><\/li><\/ul><\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span>Desirable<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/div>Prior experience of teaching U18s <\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>Young Learners teaching qualification<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>Summer school experience<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>Experience of project -based courses and/or task -based learning<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>Experience of Trinity GESE exams<\/span> <\/span> <\/span><\/li><\/ul><\/div>ANGLO is committed to implementing Safeguarding and Prevent<\/a> policies and guidelines.
