The Marine HR Department
The Marine HR Department is playing a critical role in ensuring that our organization has a skilled and competent workforce to support our operations. We arrange and coordinate all aspects relative to Worksite Personnel being employed, paid, appointed, joining and leaving Client Worksites, all in accordance with the company Quality Management System and associated work processes and client specific requirements. What You will Do
- Prepare, follow-up and ensure that timely rotation schedules are executed, and joiners have complete and proper documentation before boarding.
- Sourcing additional staff needed for increase in business.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Monitor Crew Rotations daily, organizing for qualified relievers to join in a timely manner for the vessels currently assigned.
- Responsible for recruitment of crew for assigned vessels, ensuring all have the proper regulatory and company required documentation, inclusive of pre-employment medicals, certifications, visas, contracts/ contract addenda, etc.
- Responsible for arranging all crew travel logistics, reviewing for accuracy, and communicating the respective details to all relevant parties (hiring partners, crew members, vessel & Shoreside management, port agents, travel providers).
- Compile and provide required crew information to port agents as requested (passports, seafarer’s record books, flight details, etc.) requesting hotel accommodations and ground transfers, as required.
- Review, code and approve invoices related to crew expenses in Eye-Share. Maintain a record of costs for air tickets, port agent fees, and hiring partner fees.
- Prepare and provide sign on documents for embarking crew (Offer letters, employment agreements, letters of employment).
- Maintain crew member documents in the system or Crew Inspector, completing a reconciliation to ensure that all documents are included in the employee files.
- Provide full assistance to the vessel on all HR related concerns such as preparing contract addenda, new contracts, updating crew files and monitoring/ follow up on emails concerning HR operations.
- Other duties as needed.
What We Are Looking For
Education: 4-year course graduate, business or maritime preferred.
Experience: At least 3 years’ experience in a reputable cruise manning company. Preferred with sea-going experience on a cruise ship.
Specific Business Knowledge: Experience of crewing in cruise industry, STCW documentation, fair knowledge in Accounting, budgets, and OPEXs.
