The Marine HR Department plays a critical role in ensuring that our organisation has a skilled and competent workforce to support our operations. We arrange and coordinate all aspects relative to Worksite Personnel being employed, paid, appointed, joining and leaving Client Worksites, all in accordance with the company Quality Management System and associated work processes and client specific requirements. What You Will Do
- Manage the offshore Personnel Department and maintain its integrity to ensure professional, efficient and effective operation of all aspects of the offshore Department.
- Satisfy the requirements of the company’s Clients for the supply of suitably qualified and experienced manpower.
- Empower immediate subordinates with the necessary authority to fulfil their roles.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Properly resource and manage the activities of the MHR Department and make recommendations to Senior Management regarding work practices and department operations.
- Ensure that personnel activities are fully integrated with all related functions of the company by working in close collaboration with other departments, especially concerning the interchange of information and expertise.
- Ensure overseas manning agents comply and deliver to the company standard prescribed and ensure crew management contracts are properly described to protect the company from foreseeable liabilities and provide adequate indemnities.
- In liaison with Senior MHR Manager and other involved parties, ensure that conflicts or complaints arising from seastaff or clients are properly dealt with.
- Keep the Crew database up to date for all offshore personnel.
- Stay abreast of STCW / MLC changes, M Notice regulations/articles relevant to offshore vessels, and disseminate information as required.
- Ensure that staff receive training and improvement of their knowledge and are kept up to date with relevant changes and developments.
- Initiate, in liaison with Senior MHR Manager, new business leads and contracts.
- Promote and comply with the Company’s “Safety & Environmental Policy” and any other duties as may reasonably be required by the Company.
What We Are Looking For
- Education: Minimum of Five National 5 or equivalent (qualifications) including English and Mathematics or relevant experience gained in a similar role and/or environment.
- Experience: Experience with recruiting and managing sea staff and ashore personnel.
- Specific Business Knowledge: O&G Industry / Shipping experience. Previous manager/supervisor role.
