Group Supply Chain delivers world-class global commercial agreements and establishes value-delivering strategic partnerships, driving health of discipline to ensure operational and commercial excellence and ensuring through effective governance, policies and standards our supply chain ecosystem operates efficiently, effectively and ethically.
The role will deliver Global Category management (Professional Services & Travel) and Sourcing and Contract execution in a commoditised and centrally managed manner; to ensure security of supply and optimise supplier performance and value in the allocated portfolio; and act as an interface between Supply Chain and the corporate office in a business partnering fashion. This role will be based in our London Head Office. Anglo American currently operates a hybrid working arrangement with 3 days a week required in the office. International travel may be required.
Responsibilities- Implement the Supply Chain strategy and ensure that critical tasks, performance targets, plans and budgets are adhered to with due consideration of risk identification.
- Understand regional strategic priorities and develop relevant Category, Sourcing & Contracting strategies to support business needs.
- Implement value creation and supplier engagement strategies that align to the overall global Supply Chain strategy, critical tasks, performance targets and Business Unit priorities.
- Manage relationships with strategic suppliers, to drive step change in value and deliver innovative solutions that position Anglo American as a partner of choice.
- Lead negotiations for global and regional contracts and drive a step change in commercial deals.
- Deliver planning and scheduling for global, regional, BU & corporate sourcing and contracts activities.
- Identify, enable & track value and inclusive procurement opportunities, commercial initiatives and specific resource requirements.
- Track and monitor progress against sourcing & contracts targets.
- Provide input into the relevant budget and resource requirements.
- Drive collaboration with internal and external stakeholders and act as a single point of contact to resolve Supply Chain issues and escalations for businesses and operations.
- Embed Supplier Relationship Management within the businesses and operations to foster mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers.
- Educate stakeholders on relevant Supply Chain policies and standards and provide advisory and support service to the Business Unit technical stakeholders on the supplier/s and implementation of management strategies.
- Responsible for all Sourcing & Contracting activities across a sub-set of categories that include sourcing plans; compiling and executing of sourcing events; contracting and contract management (including administration); inclusive procurement plans and execution; supplier & contract performance management; commercial initiative definition and implementation.
- Develop and maintain relationships with existing suppliers and new partners within the supply market.
- Investigate AI and digitization opportunities within SC, businesses and suppliers and develop compelling business cases and collaborate with stakeholders for potential implementation.
- Required: Bachelor degree level or equivalent, alternatively relevant tertiary qualification and proven track record of extensive practical experience in a role and context of similar complexity.
- Desirable: Post Graduate qualification.
- 8+ years experience across Category Leadership, ideally within an international organisation.
- Good technical knowledge across the SC value chain.
- Ability to integrate Commercial, PSC, Supplier Management & Purchasing sub disciplines.
