Join us as an Assistant Accountant on a 12-month FTC, supporting the Crop Nutrients Finance team. Your role will involve providing analysis and reports to help the business meet stakeholder needs, achieve strategic objectives, and support growth. You will also supply upstream reporting to the wider Anglo group performance against objectives.
This role will have a functional relationship with the Group Tax team to ensure Group standards are upheld. Group Tax aims to drive value and contribute to success by managing tax risks and ensuring compliance worldwide.
Your responsibilities include:
- Preparing tax-related financial figures for annual statutory and group reporting.
- Collaborating with Group Tax to prepare direct and indirect tax returns for Crop Nutrients.
- Assisting with ad hoc tax projects.
- Updating and reconciling SAP bank account information.
- Posting and updating cash book entries across overseas bank accounts.
- Validating bank details and approving payments in SAP.
- Checking and authorising payments in UK and overseas bank accounts for vendors, tax, and other payments.
- Handling quarterly rent and lease payments.
- Creating and issuing sales and internal recharge invoices, including payroll.
- Supporting treasury and bookkeeping for overseas entities.
- Coordinating information for ONS survey returns.
- Managing down payments and payments on account.
- Maintaining Barclaycard administration.
Your qualifications include GCSEs/A Levels and a willingness for further study. Technical knowledge required includes at least 1 year of experience in a similar role, strong numerical and analytical skills, and the ability to work under pressure. Technical skills include excellent interpersonal and communication skills, relationship-building, multitasking, proficiency in MS Excel, and preferably experience with SAP (S4 Hana).
