SHEQ Programme Coordinator – Drive a Greener Future with the @One Alliance

Location: Peterborough / Hybrid

Who are we?

We’re the @one Alliance – a ground‑breaking collaboration between Anglian Water and seven industry‑leading partners: Balfour Beatty, Barhale, Binnies, MMB, MWH Treatment, Skanska and SWECO. Together, we deliver over half of Anglian Water’s capital investment programme.

During Year 2 of AMP8, our most ambitious period yet, we’ll be delivering an even broader range of innovative and environmentally‑driven infrastructure projects – from urban drainage to nature‑based solutions like constructed wetlands.

Why join us?

As SHEQ Programme Coordinator you’ll be accountable for the coordination, administration and monitoring of a range of activities supporting the SHEQ Skills & Competence, Health, Safety, Wellbeing and Behavioural Safety functions.

This role provides support across training programmes, wellbeing initiatives, behavioural safety activities, communications, governance processes and compliance administration.

Working closely with the SHEQ Training Manager, Head of SHE and Wellbeing & Behavioural Safety Manager, you’ll ensure effective planning, coordination, communication and reporting to support the successful delivery of Alliance objectives and strategies.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Coordinate and support the delivery of SHEQ training, competency programmes and learning initiatives, ensuring activities are delivered efficiently and on schedule.
  • Maintain training systems, competency records and compliance documentation, ensuring all information is accurate, up to date and audit‑ready.
  • Support the delivery of wellbeing and behavioural safety programmes, including inductions, mental health initiatives, awareness campaigns and engagement activities.
  • Produce reports, presentations, communications and performance data to monitor progress, demonstrate compliance and support business decision‑making.
  • Coordinate meetings, events, forums and action plans, tracking progress and ensuring actions are completed within agreed timescales.
  • Act as a key point of coordination between the SHEQ team and internal and external stakeholders, building strong relationships and ensuring clear, timely communication.
  • Manage communication channels, learning resources and campaign materials to promote competence, safety, wellbeing and behavioural safety across the business.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, increase efficiency and make the best use of systems, resources and technology.
  • Champion a positive, collaborative and values‑led culture by demonstrating professionalism, accountability and a commitment to safety, wellbeing and continuous improvement.

What you’ll bring:

  • Previous administrative experience with excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities, meetings and deadlines.
  • Strong IT, document management and data management skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail when handling confidential information.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships and work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • An analytical approach, with the ability to interpret information, produce clear reports and present data in a concise and meaningful way.
  • A proactive, positive attitude with a genuine enthusiasm for Health, Safety and Wellbeing, alongside a willingness to learn, develop and continuously improve.
