Location: Peterborough / Hybrid

Who are we? We’re the @one Alliance – a ground-breaking collaboration between Anglian Water and seven industry-leading partners: Balfour Beatty, Barhale, Binnies, MMB, MWH Treatment, Skanska and SWECO. Together, we deliver over half of Anglian Water’s capital investment programme. As we begin Year 2 of AMP8, our most ambitious period yet, we’ll be delivering an even broader range of innovative and environmentally-driven infrastructure projects – from urban drainage to nature-based solutions like constructed wetlands.

Why join us? As a Finance Analyst, you’ll be at the heart of financial planning and control, driving accurate overhead and cash forecasting while supporting strong financial governance across the business. Working closely with cost centre owners and wider teams, you’ll help create clear financial visibility, encourage collaboration, and support informed decision-making. This is an opportunity to make a real impact in a purpose-led organisation that values doing the right thing, working together, and continuously improving the way we deliver for customers, communities, and the environment.

What you’ll be doing

  • Take ownership of key financial planning and control activities across the @one Alliance, with a strong focus on overhead governance and cash forecasting.
  • Work closely with Executive Leadership Team cost centre owners to provide robust financial insight, support effective decision-making, and ensure strong financial discipline across the alliance.
  • Month-end overhead analysis and cost centre reviews.
  • Forecasting and budgeting cycles.
  • Preparation of accurate monthly cash forecast submissions.
  • Use data-driven insights to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Support financial assurance and reporting processes to maintain accurate cost reporting and controls.
  • Drive greater understanding of financial performance and opportunities for cost base efficiencies.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders across the alliance and communicate key financial information clearly and proactively.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including the development of more automated and efficient reporting solutions.

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for someone with experience in business partnering, budgeting, and forecasting, who is confident working collaboratively with stakeholders across all levels of an organisation. You’ll be a proactive and flexible finance professional, able to manage competing priorities, work effectively under pressure, and meet strict deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Strong communication and influencing skills are essential, as you’ll be comfortable challenging and supporting operational management to drive informed financial decisions. You’ll also bring a collaborative mindset and a passion for teamwork, helping to build strong relationships across the alliance. A professional finance qualification such as CIMA, ACCA, or ACA (or progress towards one) would be desirable, and experience within the utilities sector would be an advantage.
