Our business plan, which we have recently submitted to Ofwat will deliver £11billion of essential investment in the East of England, over the next five years. It was created in consultation with our customers, and it balances ambition and affordability. It will create over 7,000 jobs and meet the unique challenges facing our fast growing and climate stressed region, helping the East of England to thrive and prosper. To turn this plan into action, this role is vital within our Water Recycling Asset Delivery Planning team to help identify further treatment, pumping, storage and pipe network risks, the associated construction investment needs and improvements, and developing them with stakeholders. The role is also vital in helping us to prepare for our future business plan development in coming years.

What you will be doing?
As a System Planner, within the Water Recycling Asset Delivery Planning team, your key purpose of this role will be to build relationships with stakeholders by identifying current and future risks, and investment opportunities. You will provide effective resolutions, by using information from data systems, site visits and stakeholder workshops. You will also create system plans which help identify future investments to mitigate these risks, understand business and regulatory requirements to ensure investments are providing optimum benefit.
Key tasks include:
- Creating and maintaining \’system plans\’, as a system of physical assets, from \’customer to outfall\’. System plans encompass all assets and activities from waste water collection, treatment, environmental discharge and bioresources
- Strategically bring together key stakeholders and capture data from corporate systems and site visits to provide risk and cost information to support investment planning process.
- Leading workshops with various stakeholders to understand current and future risks and identifying how these might be resolved.
- Generate initial root cause statements, evaluation of risks and creation of solutions to produce investments from the system plan for prioritisation.
- Working with key stakeholders and business experts to support regulatory requirements to produce a Drainage and Wastewater Management Plan (DWMP).
What does it take to be a System Planner?
- Experience using Excel, PowerBi and ideally investment costing programmes, such as C55
- You must be a pro-active self-starter
- Excellent communication skills
- Advanced data reporting skills
- Knowledge of the Water industry would be desirable but not essential
- Full UK Driving Licence
