If you thrive on solving problems, delivering work, and enjoy making a real impact - this is your opportunity to join a high-performing team at the heart of our operations as a Project Engineer.

In our Water Recycling team, your work will directly influence the performance and resilience of our treatment sites across the Anglian region.

The role

Our Project Engineers lead the technical, commercial, and safe delivery of both CAPEX and OPEX projects, from initial assessment through to completion. Working closely with Operational Site Teams, you'll get to the root of problems, develop practical solutions, and take ownership of projects from start to finish.

Whether your background is mechanical, electrical, process, or project management, you'll bring valued experience to the team, and we'll support you in developing the broad range of skills you'll need to thrive.

Key to success in this role is building strong stakeholder relationships. You'll provide regular updates, offer practical support, and build confidence that projects will be delivered effectively, efficiently, and most importantly - safely. Your work will have a direct and visible impact on the people and sites you support.

Throughout everything you do, you'll uphold high standards of health and safety, manage costs and risks, prioritise projects effectively, and escalate issues where needed - all within a collaborative team that values practical expertise.

What you'll be doing

  • Ensure safe delivery of projects through effective use of CDM and H&S processes
  • Lead the delivery of CAPEX and OPEX projects from assessment through to completion
  • Develop practical, cost-effective engineering solutions to site challenges
  • Work closely with stakeholders to manage priorities, risks and performance
  • Provide engineering support and take ownership of issues through to resolution
  • Maintain accurate reporting, communicate progress and escalate risks where needed
  • Follow governance processes and ensure documentation and compliance are maintained

About you

You'll be a practical and solutions-focused engineer with a passion for delivering high-quality outcomes.

  • Background in mechanical, electrical, water recycling, or project management
  • Experience delivering low value, high volume projects (water sector desirable)
  • Strong understanding of health & safety and CDM requirements
  • Excellent problem-solving and organisational skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement capability
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results
  • Full UK driving licence required - with travel to sites across the region and hybrid working flexibility

What we offer

Alongside the opportunity to make a genuine difference, you'll benefit from a competitive and flexible rewards package, including:

  • Private healthcare
  • Virtual GP service for you and your household
  • Generous double match pension - contribute 7% and Anglian Water will contribute 14%, giving a total contribution of 21%
  • Flexibility to support work-life balance
