Deliver exceptional service to our anglers. Become a Fishery Ranger! Nestled near the charming village of Dunchurch, Draycote Water is a stunning 240-hectare reservoir offering a fantastic escape for anglers and nature lovers alike. Home to a well-equipped fishing lodge and pontoon, the fishery is stocked with rainbow trout and is well known for providing excellent angling opportunities for both boat and bank angling.

What will you be doing?

  • Be the face of our fishery both from within the fishing lodge and when assisting anglers on the pontoon.
  • Maintain our fishing boats, pontoon and angling equipment ensuring anglers have a safe and enjoyable visit.
  • Operate our online booking system and answer customer enquiries both in person and via phone and email systems.
  • Organise and deliver fishing events and work closely with the team manager to ensure visitor safety and exceptional service.
  • Develop commercial fishing events and promote the fishery via our social media channels.
  • Assist in the management of the fishery by maintaining appropriate level and quality of stock, reporting variances to the manager, report weekly on catch data and ensure compliance with relevant permit and hire rules.

What does it take to become a Fishery Ranger?

  • Ideally experience in the maintenance and management of fisheries and facilities although this is not essential.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Practical skills that can be applied to the maintenance and upkeep of fishery equipment.
  • Ability to be flexible with shifts and willingness to learn.
  • Basic IT skills.
  • Level 2 boat handling qualification (training can be provided if required).
