Be at the centre of a once-in-a-generation infrastructure programme.

At Anglian Water, we're delivering something extraordinary. Our Reservoirs Programme, including the Fens and Lincolnshire reservoir schemes, represents the largest and most complex investment in our history. This is more than infrastructure. It's about securing water for future generations, supporting regional growth, and protecting the environment at scale.

We're now looking for a Strategic Programme Manager to operate at the heart of this programme, a trusted partner to the Programme Director, helping translate vision into delivery.

The role: influencing at the highest level

This is not a traditional programme management role. As Strategic Programme Manager, you'll work closely with the Programme Director, operating across strategy, delivery and executive decision-making. You'll work at the centre of a complex, high-profile programme, ensuring priorities are clear, actions are delivered, and the programme continues to move forward at pace.

You will:

  • Shape and drive strategic priorities, turning long-term vision into actionable delivery plans
  • Lead high-impact initiatives, working across multiple directorates and workstreams
  • Provide senior-level insight and challenge, supporting effective decision-making across the programme
  • Act as a key connector across the organisation, ensuring alignment between delivery, corporate functions and external partners
  • Represent and deputise for the Programme Director, engaging with senior stakeholders and industry partners

You'll have visibility across the entire programme, influencing decisions that will shape its future.

Why this role stands out

This is a unique opportunity to step into a role that offers both scale and proximity to executive leadership:

  • A career-defining development role, designed to build capability at programme and executive level
  • Unmatched programme scale, supporting delivery of multi-billion-pound infrastructure
  • High-profile stakeholder exposure, including regulators, investors, contractors and government bodies
  • Real influence, shaping strategy, transformation and delivery performance across the programme
  • Purpose-led impact, helping secure water resilience for millions of customers

You won't just support the programme, you'll help steer it.

What you'll bring

We're looking for someone who thrives in complexity and is comfortable operating at a senior level. You'll bring:

  • Experience in major capital programmes or complex project environments
  • Strong strategic thinking and programme delivery capability
  • A proven ability to work with senior leaders and influence decisions
  • Confidence managing complex stakeholder relationships across organisational boundaries
  • The ability to distil complex information into clear insight and action
  • Excellent communication skills and the credibility to operate at senior levels

Above all, you'll bring energy, curiosity and sound judgement, with the ability to operate both strategically and tactically.

Why Anglian Water?

At Anglian Water, we:

  • Put customers, communities and the environment first
  • Invest in long-term, sustainable infrastructure
  • Create opportunities for people to grow, influence and lead
  • Live our values: Build Trust, Do the Right Thing, Always Exploring

A commitment to live Safer Every Day

As a valued employee, you'll be entitled to:

  • Personal private health care
  • Life assurance (up to 8 x salary)
  • Personal accident cover (up to 5 x salary)
  • Double-matched pension (maximum 7% employee/14% employer contribution)
  • 26 days annual leave - rising with length of service and the ability to buy more
  • Excellent family friendly policies, such as 26 weeks full pay for maternity/adoption leave, as well as 4 weeks paid paternity/partner leave.
  • Opportunity for shared parental pay
  • Bonus scheme, up to 15%
  • Flexible benefits to support your wellbeing and lifestyle.
