Join our team and make a difference! We are looking for a Ranger to join our team here at Pitsford & Draycote Water. As a Ranger, most of your time will be spent outside, undertaking inspections and maintenance of the Water Park facilities and infrastructure including fishing boat fleets, signage, and buildings. You will be responsible for managing and looking after our customers at our game and coarse fisheries and wider park visitors across Pitsford, Draycote, Ravensthorpe, and Hollowell.

You will complete practical land and countryside management enhancing the natural environment for the benefit of our visitors and wildlife. You will supervise volunteer work parties and work closely with our retail and café teams and on-site partners. You'll be responsible for all aspects of safety and security of the facilities for customers and staff, including supervision of the safe use of leisure equipment, security of all assets, and the operation of security systems.

You'll assist with the use of site facilities, providing tuition on the operation of boats and equipment, advising on permits, and enforcing bylaws. You'll also support in the management of fisheries by maintaining appropriate levels and quality of stock, reporting variances to the Head Ranger/Manager, reporting on weekly catch data, and ensuring compliance with relevant permit and hire bylaws and safety policies.

This role will see you working at both our Northamptonshire Parks (Pitsford, Ravensthorpe & Hollowell Waters) and Draycote Water Fishery. Work base will be Pitsford Water and Draycote Water.

What does it take to be a Park Ranger?

  • Experience in the management and maintenance of country parks and/or fisheries
  • Advantageous if you have land management and/or water-based practical qualifications
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strive to deliver outstanding customer service at our waters
  • Knowledge of angling particularly fly fishing and predator fishing
  • Practical maintenance skills and a can-do, positive attitude

If successful in your application, you will have access to a company vehicle to use whilst on site, so a full driving licence is essential.
